Great Exhibition of the North

 

This summer sees the arrival of the Great Exhibition of the North, a free 80-day celebration of the North of England’s pioneering spirit. The event spans all across the city, comprising of an array of amazing exhibits, live performances, displays of innovation, new artworks and more! The Hancock museum, Baltic and Discovery Museum have all undergone indoor transformations for the event.

Beamish Museum

 

This summer Beamish will be welcoming a whole new town to its site! The new 50’s village is currently under construction, aiming to be open by the end of July. The new village will bring exhibits such as a 50’s cinema house, fish and chip shop, and ice cream parlour. Plus, the brass band will be on form every weekend to play in the park over the summer.

Belsay Hall

This summer Belsay Hall it’s all about Robin Hood! July 21st-22nd will be filled with archery contests, tournaments and swashbuckling sword fights, in Robin Hood’s Greatest Adventure – a show for the whole family to enjoy. The day will include workshops and activities with the chance for the kids to test out their archery skills or even train to become a court jester for the day! All in the beautiful surroundings of Belsay.
